If Coco Chanel would still be alive, she would have never used real fur these days. She would have seen it as a thing of the past, archaic and unnecessary. She was an innovator, an explorer, a rebel, a revolutionary who didn’t believe in the status quo. So why would you? JointheRefauxlution!

“The future of wildlife is in our hands!” We must raise awareness of the dangers and devastation faced by the planet’s fauna and flora. Overgrazing, habitat loss and intensive farming are the real tangible challenges that wildlife faces today. Thousands of species are considered endangered and soon will be extinct from our planet if we don’t change. Let’s celebrate today World Wildlife Day. The United Nations Assembly decided to proclaim March 3rd, the day of the adoption of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, as World Wildlife Day, which celebrates and raise awareness of the world’s wild fauna and flora. In it’s resolution, the General Assembly reaffirmed the intrinsic value of wildlife and it’s various contributions, including ecological, genetic, social, scientific, educational, cultural and recreational, to sustainable development and human well-being.

Miuccia Prada and me on this #tbt I worked for this amazing forward-thinking Creative Director and artist for 13 years. She definitely influenced my thinking and help me define very clearly my own philosophy and Pelush new take on fashion. “Success in fashion today very much depends on how connected the designer is to culture and the arts, and a social climate which sustains it. Fashion cannot exist isolated, but as a part of an integrated system, which can generate ideas. We need to bring together philosophers, art curators, sociologists who can generate such ideas. Resisting modernity can be damaging. A system needs to be recreated, conceived”. That’s why I think now is the time to change the way we make fashion. Today we know all the cruelties behind these “luxury” industries, therefor it becomes the obligation of all the new upcoming designers to be more responsible and compassionate towards the welfare of the animals and the environment.

Behind every single fur trim and every single fur trinkets there is a beautiful animal that wants to live and has a family like all of us. There is no animal welfare laws that protects our fur bearing animals in the United States. We are exactly like China. These poor animals suffer unthinkable abuses worldwide and nobody gets punished. “When we suffer we suffer as equals, and the capacity to suffer, a dog is a pig is a bear is a boy”. To kill an animal is like killing a child. They are pure and they are innocent. They look up to us for protection, they trusts us. On this Fur Free Friday I choose the coyote. In many regions in North America, coyotes are considered a pest by fur animal exploiters, of course. But this is a repugnant MYTH! These dogs, which is really what they are, are being demonized and their land has been invaded. Always remember that humans are the intruders, not the animals. This is wildlife and we must respect it and protected.

Welcome to future!

It is now more than ever a new SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY and the next NEW CHALLANGE  for all the new upcoming chefs in the world and to all the future restaurants, to CHANGE and TRANSFORM the menus, and the way we eat. This is the future, and the future MUST be green if we want to survive.

Things are really changing in New York and people are starting to wake up and understand that food is the best medicine. We’ve got nutrition down to a science now so there are no more excuses. Factory farming is the number ONE cause of climate change and it’s very real and happening very fast! Animal agriculture produces more greenhouse gas emissions than all of the world’s transportation COMBINED! Consequently deforestation, water use, waste, water pollution, ocean dead zones, habitat destruction, species extinction, animal suffering and animal abuse. We are living an unsustainable life and we don’t have the time to do baby steps. We have to change and we have to change now!

YOU are directly responsible for the change, and it all starts from your plate. Make the connection, seek the truth, educate yourself, speak with your conscious and awaken your soul…

Me and Choco at the 12th Annual NY Pet Fashion Show in New York.
Working with and for the animals gives me an immense joy. I believe animals should be respected as citizens of this earth. They should have the right to their own freedom, their own families, and their own life. Don’t treat animals as animals. Treat them as living beings. That’s what they are. WE ARE ALL CONNECTED, WE ARE ALL ONE, WE ARE ALL EARTHLINGS…….

Never forget where fur is from and how it’s made. There is NO humane way of killing our beautiful furry friends. It is time to stop the institutionalization of treating our precious remaining wildlife as commodities. Please take a stand for our animals on this #furfreefriday Let’s step in the 21st Century and #GoFaux instead!

Preparing for New York fashion week Refauxlution on Saturday!Who needs to wear real fur anymore when we have the most incredible technology to mimic it? Always remember where fur comes from and how it’s made. Don’t support or wear cruelty on your shoulder. Be compassionate, be kind, and help our beautiful animals and wildlife to survive. It is disappearing very rapidly and once it’s gone it will be gone forever. Celebrate our animals instead and go faux!

ALWAYS REMEMBER WHERE FUR COMES FROM. If only people could see what these poor animals have to go through, no one will ever buy fur again. The fur industry must be completely band and animal cruelty should be illegal in every country in the world. Animals killed for their fur suffer excruciating pain while they are electrocuted anally, drowned, beaten, trapped, tortured and slaughtered. Or more than often these beautiful creatures are skinned alive ? Be comfortable in your own skin and let the animals keep their. It’s their skin, not ours. What fashion needs now more than ever, is your sense of compassion and empathy. On this Fur Free Friday pledged to go fur fee forever, and tell your friends to do the same. It’s the right thing to do.

Loving animals means love all animals, not just the ones we share our homes with. How incredible is to see these beautiful creatures in their own natural habitat and free. We are blessed with so many magnificent animals on this planet. Please be kind and respectful towards them. Help them to be protected and safe. Don’t wear them on your head or as trims and on your body. They need their fur, not us!
